My #2016bestnine photos highlighting moments or feelings I’m grateful for as I look back on the year that’s been #2016. In no particular order:1. My job: Working for and with such great people has been so rewarding, and the challenge of managing @bangorshed as it grows and establishes itself was a great learning curve. I’ve loved it. 2. Hobart Football Club: Last year I struggled to find my place but I thoroughly enjoyed 2016 and really appreciated being a part of the continuing revival of @hobarttigers #HobartForeverBoys3. A return visit to Paris in May for our now traditional hunt all over the city for the best croissant turned up some good contenders, but @ble_sucre is still king of the croissant for me.4. Quiet nights sat at home with a cocktail by the fire: Mark this as the year I started to really love sitting at home relaxing with a good drink. A sign of age? 5. A return visit to Skye: it was great to return to visit good friends on @officialisleofskye and tackle some new hikes, the highlights being Blà Bheinn and the amazing view into the Cuillins from Sgurr na Stri.6. A visit to the home of whisky: a whirlwind trip to Islay to try as much whisky as we could squeeze in to 3 days. Jura was beautiful and I would love to go back, but a visit to my favourite distillery @laphroaig was the clear highlight.7. Relaxing weekends away: We wanted to make the most of our weekends to explore Tasmania and had some great experiences, my favourites being a relaxing weekend at @pumphousepoint in February and a big night at the @thousandlakeslodge late in the year. #pumphousepoint8. Hiking and exploring: Day hikes have become a favourite pastime and we’ve done some incredible walks this year, the highlight being the Tre Cime region in the Northern Italian @dolomites.9. Life at Bangor: life on the farm in Dunalley has been so peaceful and calming, and I’ve enjoyed just sitting back and being thankful for living in such a beautiful part of the world. Hosting Christmas lunch and having family visit from the UK capped off a great year.
